We know many of you are wondering what this season will ultimately look like. The truth is we won't really know until after it happens. (Helpful I know...) The reality is uncertainty. We'll be monitoring the COVID conditions and making decisions as the information is available. Resorts are opening and some people have already gotten in a few training days! The division race calendars are filling in and we hope to have lots of events this season! We'll do our best to communicate updates and changes so be sure to check your emails. We are working on COVID-specific communications for masters to help keep us all informed and diligent throughout this season and will communicate that soon. Stay active, keep social distancing, wear your mask, and encourage friends and family to do the same.

Major Events Update
We want to help you plan as best we can by giving you some insight on when some decisions may be made and information may be available. We will include this section in emails moving forward and include an update even if the update is "no new updates."
Eastern Regional Championships - West Mountain - Queensbury, NY - February 12-14, 2021 SG/GS/SL
We are excited to announce West Mountain as the location for the 2021 Eastern Regional Championships! This will be the third season in a row that the West Mountain has hosted a masters race. It has become a great partner venue for the Mid-Atlantic Masters and the Eastern race series. We will send along more detailed information as it becomes available. As with the FMC/Western Regionals, participation will be capped at 100 competitors.
National Championships - Sun Valley, ID, March 14-20, 2021
We are still working with the resort to confirm planning for this event. We may not have an update here until December. We will review the COVID situation on January 15th (2 months prior to the event) and make a go/no-go decision.
FIS Masters Cup/Western Regional Championships - Big Sky, MT, February 5-7
We are awaiting final confirmation from the resort and lodging information, but Big Sky is excited to host this event for us! Big Sky is also hosting a junior FIS DH during the week following our event so there will likely be opportunities to train and forerun with them. Participation will be capped at 100 competitors.
No new updates: National Championship DH, National Speed Series

Brass 101 Free Avalanche Safety Webinar
Race events have a team captain's meeting and inspections so we can become familiar with the venue and terrain before jumping into the course. If we happen to have a day where the race is canceled due to too much snow, we still need to learn about the terrain before venturing out. Whether skiing inbounds or in the back country, knowledge is power when it comes to avalanche and skier safety. Sign up for BRASS 101 Avalanche Safety Webinar and take 90 minutes to learn about avalanche safety from certified avalanche safety instructors.
